Posted by Lewe at March 1, 2006 03:14 AMThat's one vey flattering bus pass photo.
Posted by alfr3do at March 1, 2006 11:19 AMShe's stunning. I love her neutral expression
Posted by Graham at March 1, 2006 12:58 PMAn enjoyable portrait with a perfectly set DOF. Nice work.
Posted by Arne at March 1, 2006 04:20 PMWoah, superb!!
Colour is very cool.

Matto, there is something goin' on here I don't understand...
...you have me feeling I have become an infra-red iris scanner at some security checkpoint rather than a mere human TN.Net lurker slash commentor...
You have captured such a rich moment in time, there is so much going on here, it's baffling.

Posted by HiMY SYeD [www.Photopia.TYO.ca] at March 1, 2006 10:52 PMapparently neutral, she's very intense... superb pose and shot.....
Posted by SwampThing - Luigi at March 2, 2006 05:28 AMVery, very good portrait. So nice.
Posted by Micki at March 2, 2006 07:56 AMthats a very nice portrait but i'd want to ask - why is she serious ?
Posted by prasoon at March 2, 2006 04:03 PMExcellent portrait. Beautiful muted colors and shallow depth of field. What a gaze!
Posted by andy at March 2, 2006 05:14 PMIt's like a passport photo but then you can dig deep into it. The contrast between the blue and the pink is awesome.
Posted by Kaveh at March 3, 2006 02:48 PMI love the blue cast in this one, and the fact that it looks so soft. And the very cute nose. :d
Posted by Iphi at March 6, 2006 12:11 PMThe DOF and her expression together make a great photo (the nice job on lighting is too obvious to even mention).
Posted by Tuffer at March 6, 2006 03:55 PMThis sucks
the lighting is bad, the expression is lifeless, the environment is uninspiring. What the hell are you all oohhing about.
It's like a police mug shot, excpet the flash didn't go off.
This sucks
Posted by bob at March 6, 2006 11:05 PMIt's strange, I just can't forget this portrait since I saw it a few days ago. Is it the bi-color light, or the subtil expression of the face or the skin texture? It looks so "real"... difficult to explain in english. Anyway thanks for sharing!
Posted by Stephane Alaimo at March 8, 2006 04:44 PMbob is awesome. i love when i get a bob comment.
Stephane: i think the reason is tracey (ellen)
Posted by matto at March 8, 2006 05:17 PMthere is a bob in all of us. but most of the time we can keep him locked in. for this shot, i'd let him him out for a walk.
Posted by zoltan at March 9, 2006 01:52 AMhaha zoltan, i have no idea what that means!
you hate the shot too?
Posted by matto at March 9, 2006 01:58 AMit almost made me cry! beautiful!!!!
Posted by kacy at March 15, 2006 12:24 PMIsn't this Ellen Page?
Posted by Jeff at March 17, 2008 07:51 PMHello, Matt. If you'll believe it, this is the photo that persuaded me to buy the then-new Canon 5D, back when it was still $3500. The decreased depth of field is so much more pleasing to me than on cropped sensor cameras. From the time I had the 5D, I began shooting with a new zeal, and in an ironic way, this photo was the launch of my business.
Thanks!
