Looks like Roger's got issues.
On the other hand, his friends certainly seem tidy.
Posted by sinnick at October 5, 2006 07:07 PMIs that Roger there in the corner, behind the flip chart?
Posted by Kathleen at October 6, 2006 07:01 AMRoger definitely has issues, I wonder if he was there and who was careless enough to leave that information there after they left.
It's a little creepy too, especially the way they use a word like 'kin' instead of 'fsamily'.
Posted by miles at October 6, 2006 10:36 AMDamn I really have no worries when I see things like that, well captured.
Posted by Dean at October 6, 2006 02:49 PMi absolutely love this. you have a real gift for 1. portraits and 2. invoking a story and this is an absolute gem of a #2.
Posted by sarah at October 6, 2006 09:04 PMabsolutely brilliant! i love everything about how you framed this. the glasses on the table really leave you guessing.
Posted by Tiago P. at October 12, 2006 12:52 PMintensely private alienation exposed. my stomach sinks at the brightness of the lighting, the formalness of the table, the carelessness mentioned above. killer shot.
Posted by grrlsweat at October 14, 2006 03:04 AMThe bright, numbing conference room. The empty seat. Was that Roger's chair? The glasses waiting for something...the single napkin. Powerful.
Posted by Graham Armstrong at October 14, 2006 03:02 PMholy shit!
Posted by shane j montgomery at October 18, 2006 12:44 AMNo wonder Roger is paranoid... everyone is talking about him.
Posted by ian at October 18, 2006 09:11 AMReminds me of something I used to hear Steve Earle say (though I don't think it's his quote): "Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get ya."
Posted by Kathleen at October 18, 2006 10:24 AMvery nice shot! nicely framed! For a still-life this picture tells a whole lot of story! but maybe the strength is that it leaves you behind with more questions than the story is giving you initially.
