department stores to digger wasps
this is from around 1989.

i spent a lot of my childhood in a beautiful house in the country called "the willow". when i was eleven or so the house was sold.

i met laurel at 14. it was true love! we went out for a few years, and kept in touch after that.

long after we broke up, she started seeing a guy who lived in a beautiful house in the country. this guy had won a lottery and bought the willow, then by some strange coincidence had met my ex and invited her to live there with him. she moved in not even knowing i had ever lived there. they broke up soon after.

a few years later, the house burned down to the ground. laurel and i went up there to poke around in the ashes...

Interesting photograph, all the more so once learning you didn't construct it. Quite the find to capture the memories of a rather poignant story.

Uhhhh. Bwah. Wow. That's, uhhhh, damn. Wow.

A remarkable find, a moving story, a tonne of strange coincidences. Sounds like a movie script, but it's even better because it's real.
