Posted by your_waitress at November 25, 2004 12:46 PMThe first time I was seated in front of the television to be babysat by cartoons,
I theorised cartoons were simply real life images put together with a LOT more colour.
Cartoon characters, were of course real life actors in a studio somewhere, and the 'animation' process I'd hear about was them there animators adding a LOT more crayons or paint to the finished film.
As a three and four and five and six and seven and eight and eight and a half year old, I kept an eye out in vain for these 'three fingered' real life actor people in daily life to 'prove' my cartoon theory.
I routinely failed every 'dissertation defense' of my 'cartoon theory' during recess and lunch breaks on the playground.
Other children believed in Santa Clause. I believed cartoon characters were real.
Surely one day I would bump into an older retired-from-acting Fred Flintstone or George Jetson on the street, look at their three fingered hands and become vindicated.
After all these years,
I Now have proof!
Matt, many many many many thanks!
;-)
Now, about that Santa Claus guy....
Eek...this is very creepy. Matt, you need to stop spending your evenings down dark alleys!
