This may be reading too much into the photo, but what I really like is the contrast between Depp in the background, who is an actor playing characters, and the real subject who looks like a real life character. Great sense of mood in this shot. Wonderful.

Great moment in that guy's face, lots of humanity there.

Very good shot! The three characters are in various stages of look at us: one looks straight, one slightly away and third is ignorant of us!

hey kerstin!

to tell you the truth, i just ask them nicely. often they are reluctant at first, but then i explain how interesting they are and how much i love taking pictures, and usually they are flattered.

try it! keep smiling :)

~now this is my cup of tea...a fine street shot/memont and a good chracter study of the subject...perfect in b&w, but I suggest applying some unsharp mask in Photoshop to enhance the detail...at first I/eye was not too keen on all the negative space to the left of the subject but after a bit of viewing I/eye really like the inclusion of the subject's relfex in that space - the off-center placement of the subject works extremely well in this instance...a fine shot, off to view some more!~
