Long time since I left a comment here, although I do visit daily. This is just stunning Matt, absolutely stunning.

The first thought that came to my mind was Mad Max. It sort of looks like Australia and the image has the same sort of desolate gloominess to the lighting as does the movie. The tank looks like it could have the precious gasoline that everyone fights for in it. Or could it be a trap, to lure in others?

Now I want to watch the movie again. This is a great shot Matt. It has my imagination running wild!

Another great shot. This and the last shot look like western U.S. ?

Way cool. It reminds me of the times I passed through north dakota into montans. Lost, alone, excited. Very nice. Thanks

hey, love the photo, just wondering what sort of modifications you did to it, was there any tweaking of levels or surves to get that gloomy effect? thanks

matt, great photo. congratulations. i am also interested in your answers to marc's qestions. is this all real or the result of post-processing?

this is in the south east of california, in the desert near the salton sea.

post processing: a fair bit of colour balance tweaking, and some curves to bring the highs down and up the midtone contrast. i was trying to match the slightly surreal colours and mood of the place.
