department stores to digger wasps
this is from around 1989.
i spent a lot of my childhood in a beautiful house in the country called "the willow". when i was eleven or so the house was sold.
i met laurel at 14. it was true love! we went out for a few years, and kept in touch after that.
long after we broke up, she started seeing a guy who lived in a beautiful house in the country. this guy had won a lottery and bought the willow, then by some strange coincidence had met my ex and invited her to live there with him. she moved in not even knowing i had ever lived there. they broke up soon after.
a few years later, the house burned down to the ground. laurel and i went up there to poke around in the ashes...
Show us some crappy pictures.

In any regard its a great image!!
I recognize this!
I think you've shown it to me before, separate from this site :).
Matt this is an awesome find, a touching story and a beautiful shot.
thanks all! Jens, no I didn't manipulate this at all, that's the real photo and the dictionary was exactly like that.
tres spooky monsieur matto! love the story and image. what page is the dictionary on? if greed is on that page, i'm going to get all freaked out. ;-)
The story was already in the picture. Great shot.
Interesting photograph, all the more so once learning you didn't construct it. Quite the find to capture the memories of a rather poignant story.
Uhhhh. Bwah. Wow. That's, uhhhh, damn. Wow.
A remarkable find, a moving story, a tonne of strange coincidences. Sounds like a movie script, but it's even better because it's real.
burned words, without words..
